5 x 9 cream weave area rug by Abani Luca collection

I ordered the Abani Luca cream weave area rug in the 5' x 8' option.The first thing I want to note is that it is short of being 8' and a little over 5' so if you need an exact size, I'd take that into account. The rug came and looked exactly like the picture. It was rolled up so it does have to sit for a while to get the ends to lay flat. I did not notice any chemical smells upon opening it. I needed an area rug for our spare bedroom, and this was a good fit between the bed and the wall. It is great for small spaces. I do like the colors of it. It has a very neutral color scheme and can fit into many different styles of home. It has a weaved look to it with cream and a grey beige. I like that it is non shedding. Although it does say that it is pet friendly, it does have a Berber-type loop to it. I'm leery of using it around our pets for fear that their claws would get stuck in it and pull the loops. If you have a cat they might be tempted to sharpen their nails on it as well. I would also be careful when vacuuming so that the sweeper doesn't get stuck on it. I was worried about that but so far, I haven't had an issue. I do like that it is soft and warm underfoot, especially when stepping out of bed. It does say that it is stain resistant and easy to clean if a spill or stain does happen, though I haven't had to put this to the test yet. They do have several different sizes available. The back doesn't have a non-slip grip, but I have it on a laminate floor and it doesn't move. I am also worried that if I don't have a non-slip mat underneath it that it will scratch my floor. Take that into account that you will likely have to purchase one separately. Poor Quality but Pretty Design

While the woven design is pretty, this is a terrible quality rug. First, the measurements are off with the rug being 1.5 inches shorter in length and 1 inch shorter in width. The backing is awful and is so thick and scratchy, it has damaged my wood floor and makes the rug very uncomfortable to walk on. There are several pulls throughout the rug on the gray woven section. The cream part is a bit softer to touch. The cream color is nice but the gray color is very dull. The rug will not lie flat no matter how much weight I have stacked on it to flatten it out. It also slides very easy making it unsafe in an entryway. The edging appears well stitched but it easily snags on my feet and started to pull away from the rug. There is an initial new carpet odor when the rug is first unrolled but this faded after 3 days. For the price, I expected a much higher quality rug. This is not a good value for the cost.

This Rug Is Gorgeous But Unsure How It’s Pet Friendly…

I usually try to stay away from cream or white rugs since I have two cats but I ordered after reading in the listing that it’s pet friendly. From the listing photos you can’t really see this but due to how it’s made (woven design) there’s potential for pets to get their claws stuck & ruin it. I’ve taken a close up of a small area so that you can see the material before ordering. My concern is with two cats who are constantly sinking their claws into rugs despite having two scratching poles (which they use as well) that they’ll ruin this rug entirely. One thing that I found annoying was the large sticker glued on the back of the rug. It has all of the information regarding the rug on it. I don’t have a problem with it however when the sticker is dirty & I planned on placing this rug on my carpet. Yea no thank you!!! I finally got it removed but it took FOREVER. I had to use a pocket knife to separate the glue from the threads because if you’re not careful you will pull the threads. Also, be ready to have a time getting this rug removed from the TIGHT plastic wrap they have it in. I appreciate good packaging but this was literally uncalled for in my opinion. It was such a job to remove it. I’m anxious to see how it holds up with two WILD cats. This is also not machine washable so you’ll have to spot treat. We have one of those small Bissell pet shampoo machines that we ordered from Amazon. It’s been a life saver because one of our two cats who doesn’t chew his food, throws up often as a result. Let’s just say that little shampooing machine is worth its weight in gold!
