High quality black/gray low-pile loom rug

I use this lovely Abani rug in the utility room where we do laundry and it has actually helped much more than I thought it would. The laundry baskets are not scratching the flooring to pieces like they used to and the sound of it isn’t driving me insane due to the nice rug barrier that clearly muffles and absorbs sounds.The rug pile height varies with the color pattern, thus the thickness varies slightly as well. Overall, the thickness is that of a standard, low-pile rug— the white coloring is shorter than the black and grey section (and I must say there is more gray to this than what I thought I saw in the listing photos but it does look good!). This isn’t a high-pile plush rug, however, it is a nice quality low-pile rug that would be convenient for stick vacuums and traditional heavier duty vacuums as well without being immediately picked up by the vacuum cleaner— meaning, it’s not one of those ultra thin washable rug types. You certainly can not put this rug in any washer. This is a loom rug type that you could actually use your carpet shampooer on.The back of the rug is not rubberized so take note that this can and will slide around if not anchored under something like some pieces of furniture. If you want this to be ‘freestanding’, on its own then I’d also suggest purchasing a rug mat the same size of this rug. I am 100% not bothered by that fact and find it somewhat convenient actually to be able to adjust where I want it easily by just pushing it with my foot but that’s just me.When it arrived, it was tightly rolled so it was very curled initially but if you’re patient and also weigh the corners down, it’ll eventually flatten out. It did also have an ever so slight new product scent but it did also dissipate quickly. It could have also been from the clear film it was wrapped in. It’s perfect now, no smell, I didn’t spray it with anything it just went away quickly on its own. That’s just a part of getting new things.I would definitely order from this company again— they make good quality rugs that I am proud to utilize and show off in my home. It makes the laundry room more intentional and put together which it desperately needed.

This is slippery and smells bad, and cheaply made.

This is a black and white, 4-foot by 6-foot medium-sized area rug. The pattern is unique and very nice.I have a few things, both good and bad, that feel like they are important enough to bring to your attention, if you are looking at this rug.So, let's start with the things I liked most about it:• This rug is made from 100% polyester carpet fiber. It has a medium pile that is soft and comfortable.• The 4'x6' size is perfect for a bedroom, office, or college room.• It is a deep black and ivory pattern, but it doesn't seem to overwhelm my dining room which has plenty of light and other colors to keep it from doing so.Now for the things I found problematic:• It really smelled horrible.• While this is a nice, modern-looking rug, one of my biggest issues with it is that it's not machine washable. This IS stain resistant, but it is also spot-clean only.• Because it has a medium-length pile, it limits vacuuming as well since it will snarl and pull strands out. That means you SHOULD NOT use the "beater-brush"/rotator brush function while vacuuming.• Now, for my BIGGEST issue with this rug: it HAS NO SLIP-RESISTANT BACKING! The back is a simple Jute backing. For those who don't know what Jute is, it's a plant fiber that works kind of like one big, thin layer of Scotch Tape. The sticky side holds all the fibers in place, but the other side is slick... which is exactly what this rug is, on any floor surface other than carpet, and even then, if it's a short-pile carpet, this will still move under your feet. There are, of course, pads you can buy separately to prevent slippage on all floors simply by placing them under the rug. Plus, it will not only keep it in place, but it will make it far easier to use a vacuum on it. You can also use sticky Velcro corner tabs, or tape tabs made for rug bottoms, but trying to get the glued-down side off your flooring again is a HUGE task, and can cause damage; plus they don't work on carpet flooring.So, in summary, I don't think that this is a good value, ESPECIALLY for this price. It has the minimal backing possible holding it together, and unless you spend more money to make it non-slip, it isn't worth even a fourth of that price, at least to me is isn't. The very last thing I need, is a rug that will slip right out from under me, plausibly causing an accident. I definitely DO NOT recommend this rug.
