My apartment building didn’t come with a curtain rod, only blinds. I work nights so I have to use blackout curtains, the blinds weren’t enough. I used to have a tension rod but it would keep falling from my cat sitting on the curtains.This holds very well! If a 14 pound cat can sit on the curtain and pull it enough, I say it works very well!The installation was super easy. I am unsure if it’s renter friendly (ie rips paint off) but it seems to be very sticky, so I think I’ll leave it for the next tenant.

Sturdy but not Adjustable

Once these babies stick, especially to dry wall, they’re not coming off without a bit of paint attached. However, if you don’t mind patching when/if you remove them, they’re very sturdy. I put up another set of curtains with the included metal brackets and my cat was able to pull the brackets right out of the wall while playing in the curtains. I replaced the brackets with these hooks and I’ve had zero issues since. They’re a little tricky to line up since they’re so big, but once they’re up, you barely notice them. I will never use anything else. I HATE putting up curtains the traditional way!

Fell twice, will not stay adhered to the surface.

We have tried everything to get these to stay up. It's a very large window, so I used 4 of these adhesive rod holders. I waited 2 days before adding the curtains. The curtains aren't super heavy, they are a lightweight cotton. The surface the rod holders were adhered to was smooth metal. We even tried to superglue them up. These will not stay up on the wall. I'm very disappointed and do not recommend these to anyone with a large window. They may be all right for smaller spaces. Please keep in mind that these things are huge in size.

Super strong and supportive - my tension rod isn't going anywhere

Excellent! Super strong and sturdy. These hold my thicker tension rod perfectly. They were super easy to set up and that adhesive isn't going anywhere which is important as it's on tile in my bathroom and bound to get wet! Since I used it on tile, I didn't use the screws. But it did come with screws for extra adhere-ability.
