Doesn’t get any more simple than this

I own a few cheaply frames like this for small projects and for simple things. They work well and do the job even being a plastic like material rather than glass or plexi. However, the process is in questions since you can occasionally find these in a dollar store for example. However, the light wood look of the frame is appealing and after removing the film of the sheer cover, this does the jobs for displaying a photograph, a child’s art piece, or even a poster. Mine did not arrive with any damage and was neatly packaged with bumpers at the corner edges of the frame. I think this is an excellent and affordable way to frame items as a fraction of the cost at art supply stores so there definitely value here.

Easy To Use And Protects Family Heirlooms With Flexible Plexiglass. Very Happy!

I feel horrible that I left this painting in a frame and exposed to dust and sun while we were remodeling. It's valuable to me and I wanted it to be encased in a frame that protected it and made it look beautiful. I hoped I could recover what's left. It's canvas, the picture itself is over 70 years old, and fragile now. I had purchased a glass frame but it was heavy and I was afraid the pressure would cause the paint on the canvas to crack. Plexiglass is somewhat flexible and lighter. It looks just like glass anyway (I had no idea how to judge the mat size).IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL! I got the painting* placed inside the frame without cracking any paint and it was easy, easy! I was also able to handle the plexiglass without getting my fingerprints all over it. It's got a protective film to keep fingerprints off. Of course, I dropped the frame at least twice before getting the picture inside, so I'm glad it wasn't glass! I realize I will need mat that fits the painting... either that or a larger frame, but I like the idea of blue mat... maybe? This looks like it was done by a professional! I'm so excited that I got the painting into the frame and know exactly what color/size mat to use or to get a larger frame but the fact that it is sealed and protected makes me so happy and it looks beautiful!! The frame is beautiful, it was easy to use, and feels secure. It can be hung horizontally or vertically and the latches to secure the backing are easy to use (the cardboard back is much better than paper as a dust cover as well).The old frame is over 100 years old (pic) and the paper dust backing was torn. The small nails that held the picture in place were actually tearing into the painting itself. I don't need nails with this. I didn't expect the mat to fit but I didn't know how much of the painting it would cover. Now, I know. As I think about it, I will probably get a larger frame (12x16)... especially because it's on sale! It will stand out... AND, I don't have to bring it to some frame shop where they will try to charge me to restore an old frame for $120! I'm thrilled with this product!! I've seen other frames within approximately the same price range but I've not seen plexiglass and I prefer it. (btw, I erased the painting. The artwork you see is NOT representative of the actual painting*! My grandmother would kill me if I didn't mention that. I also realize I did not put the mat over top of the painting. It cut too much of the painting out. My advice is always go with a larger frame if you can).

Good Looking Well Made Frame

This is a good-looking, well-made frame for the price point. It feels solid and offers some versatility, being able to either use it as a 5x7 frame or 4x6 with the mat. It's thicker than most frames you'll find at this price, and the plastic front is nice and clear. The color is an attractive yellow, almost like a spruce color. I chose to put a 4x6 photo of my daughter and me in it using the supplied mat, and it looks great. The fit was perfect. It has 2 separate mounting points in the back using a swivel triangle mount, so you can hang it horizontally or vertically. The mounts are preinstalled. The backing is secured by 4 separate swivel attachments. It also has a stand for setting it on a counter or shelf. Overall, we're happy with it, especially at this price.

Solid minimal frame

I grabbed this for the nursery because I’m paranoid about glass breaking near the crib. This uses a high-quality plastic front instead of real glass, which I honestly prefer for peace of mind. You have to remember to peel the protective film off both sides or it looks cloudy, but once it's clear, it looks just as good as the real thing. The frame itself is solid wood with a nice grain, not that fake laminate coating. It stands sturdy on the dresser, but the hooks on the back make it easy to hang if I change my mind later. Under $10 is a great price, and I love the wood color.

MDF - not wood - but high quality nonetheless

This is on the higher-end of low-budget picture frames. The quality is very high for what it is, but no amount of high quality can distract from the fact that it’s crafted from lower-grade materials.There’s no glass. This isn’t necessarily a criticism, because some people may consider it a positive, but it’s something to be aware of. In lieu of glass, this frame uses an acrylic sheet, and it’s very thin. It still looks nice from a distance, but it’s so thin that it will reflect light unevenly in places where it bends slightly. Acrylic this thin simply doesn’t look as good as a pane of glass, but it’s much safer by comparison. There’s nothing to shatter. Acrylic is much more resistant to scratching, as well.The frame itself looks really good, but it’s not real wood. It’s MDF with a type of oak-style contact paper layered on top. The quality of this wrap looks very convincing, even up close, but it can’t beat the real thing. Areas of high humidity will cause the contact paper to separate and the MDF to expand over time. That’s just what happens. For now, it looks really good for what it is.Overall, while I’ll always be partial to the real thing, I do understand that there’s a market for MDF and acrylic picture frames. If you’re going to go that route for safety or budget reasons then I think you could do a lot worse than this one. I’d prefer thicker acrylic, but it’s still good as it is. The sizing is accurate, the price is good, and I highly recommend it.
