Rug is as pictured, and very, very soft. We got the beige/blue and to me rugs when you get them for the most part a!ways seem more vivid then picture. That being said, the rug is beautiful and when you enlarge the photo its pretty accurate, it is subtle compared to others but that's what we wanted. It came folded in a box and laid flat immediately, no smell, we put a pad underneath.I'm a bit concerned about keeping it clean...we are just the 2 of us with no pets and ours is to big for the washer ( 8x10) so may need to look at a Green machine next!!!
