Adds Greenery Without Maintenance, Though a Bit Small

This artificial boxwood ball tree looks very good once set up and adds a nice pop of greenery to my covered porch. It did take a little fluffing when it arrived to get it looking full, but that was easy enough to do. The spike that connects to the shrub isn’t very sturdy, so it doesn’t feel super secure, and it is definitely smaller than the measurements listed, which was a little disappointing and the reason for a star loss.That being said, the overall quality is good for the price. The greenery itself looks realistic from a distance, and it works well as a decorative accent where I needed it. For the cost, it’s serving its purpose and adds a touch of charm to my space without the maintenance of a real plant.

Cute Little Boxwood Tree

8/30/25 This review is for Artificial Boxwood Ball Trees with Ground Spike, 20" UV Resistant Artificial Shrubs, Fake Evergreen Artificial Plant Brush for Indoor Outdoor Front Porch Garden, 1 Pack. I do alot of home decorating. I also have several faux evergreens. The best ones are almost indistinguishable from the real thing, with one big difference, no maintenance. This boxwood shrub is pretty good, it looks fairly realistic. The branches are numerous, so it looks full and with a little fluffing, you can shape it up pretty well. I did have a branch at the bottom that was missing some leaves, but it was easy enough to tuck that up where it wasn't noticeable. I like that it has a fairly long spike so it's secure in whatever container you put it in. It is advertised as being 20"; however, note that this includes the plant and the spike and the pictures for the listing reflect the actual height and width of the plant part, which you may want to consult before selecting a container for this. It seems similarly priced at $25.99 to other artificial shrubbery of this type. Overall, I'd recommend it.

Several deceptive marketing tactics employed for a very small, mediocre quality product

Disappointingly, this topiary is much smaller than anticipated. In fact, if was smaller than most other topiaries I have encountered. Sure, it included measurements (although the listed height includes the stake, which will not count toward the actual visible product height), so that part is on me, but I really dislike when sellers photoshop their product into a stock picture without bothering to accurately adjust the size of the product to the appropriate proportions relative to the other items in the photo. This creates the false appearance of a larger product than it actually is in reality, which is in essence deceptive marketing. The photos are just as much a part of the marketing as the words used to sell it, since in the online space the buyer must rely on the accuracy of photos in order to make an informed purchase.Additionally, expect this very small topiary to look and feel very fake up close, as it is simply cheap plastic throughout. While plastic is the most resilient material for outdoor use, it also makes it less realistic upon close inspection. I do appreciate that they included some variation in color though, from shades of greenish yellow to dark green, dabbled throughout the topiary so that it at least looks less uniform in appearance.On the topic of plastic, I think it’s worth noting that the seller mentions in the product description pictures that this product is “made of non-toxic materials” and “poses no threat to the environment or human health”. And yet, there is an abundance of high quality research available now showing just the opposite - the negative environmental and biological impact of plastics, hormone-disrupting plasticizers, and pervasive microplastics on virtually everything for virtually forever. This is a clear case of deceptive green-washing practices, which should not be acceptable for sellers on such a large platform as this.
