Looks great with our books.

These shelves look really good on my wall. I really like the natural wood and bead look. The beads give the shelves softness which matches our play room vibe. They were easy to put up right out of the box. I am using them similar to the photos with books and small book buddy stuffed animals. They have been really sturdy so far. Most of that depends on how you hang them. I was lucky and attached mine to a stud. Such a great deal for the product you get. They have held up to younger toddlers pulling on them a bit and the weight of books so there is stability.

Attractive wood shelf with wood bead design -- but difficult to assemble

I have to admit that when I opened the box and saw six bags of wooden beads and individual wood shelves and end pieces, I was not thrilled. The bookshelf required assembly, and I knew those wooden beads would end up all over the floor. Unfortunately, I was right. All the beads wound up on the floor before I figured out how to assemble without this happening and without a second person to hold them on the rod. Some of my tips for assembly:* Drill out the holes in the main wood shelf before trying to screw into them. They are just a smidge too tight.* After you attach the two shelves and the middle piece, screw on the two end pieces in the holes furthest from the wall, but don't tighten them.* Loosely put the metal rods in place on both sides of the shelf. If you don't put both in place, the first metal rod will slip right through the hole when you add the beads.* With the bookshelf standing on its end, pull out the metal rod from the end piece and add the wooden beads. When the last wooden bead is in place, slide the metal rod into place, then add and tighten the screws to complete that side of the shelf. Flip over the bookshelf and do the same thing on the other side.Maybe others didn't have a problem assembling, but I sure did. However, after I adopted this method, the beads didn't fall off again during assembly. And once I got the shelf constructed, it was quite attractive and sturdy. I noticed that most similar shelves sold on Amazon do not have beads on the front shelf; instead, they use a solid piece of wood, which would have made assembly 100% easier.

Too much time to assemble

The shelf looks adorable once it’s up, and I really like the solid pine wood and wooden bead design because it fits perfectly in a nursery or kids’ room. The materials feel sturdy and safe with smooth rounded edges, so no worries about sharp corners. Good amount of storage.However, assembling it was a real pain. The wooden beads have to be threaded onto a metal rod, which is much more time-consuming than expected. It’s definitely not the “quick install” the description suggests.Once it’s together, it’s cute, stable and functional, but be prepared to spend extra time putting it together.

Very cute nursery shelves

These shelves are quite nice for a nursery. Assembly is required, so a little time consuming, but not very difficult. Everything for assembly was provided including a small screwdriver and screws with anchors for hanging the shelves which seem very sturdy. Having the boards unassembled definitely makes it easier if you are planning on painting or staining them. They aren't very deep, so you are limited as to what you put on them. I am hanging them in my guest room which is mostly used when my granddaughters come over. I might use one of them in the kitchen for my spices. I'm waiting for my son to come over to hang them and will update, although I'm not expecting any problems.
