With enough of these your dining table could look like theirs

I’m a sucker for garland. It’s probably my favorite Christmas decoration other than the tree, which (let’s face it), is garland-on-steroids. When I decorate, I put it everywhere: on the bannister, over the doorways, on the mantle, on the sideboards, on the table…you get the idea. Then, the holidays end, the decorations come down, and I feel like the whole house is missing something. For 10 and half months! Babies take less time that that.So, I’ve been looking for a replacement. The trouble is, if you choose evergreen (which is my favorite), everyone who comes to the house asks, ‘why do you still have the Christmas decorations up?’ I could have Mardi Gras ribbons in purple, green, and gold on it, and they’d still ask. So, I decided I need OTHER greenery, and the first I tried were these Italian Ruscus vines. I liked the shape of the leaves.Don’t expect to take them out of the package and plop them down on the table and have it look like the photos on the Amazon product page. They come curled up and squished into a plastic bag, and they don’t want to uncurl unless you make them. That said, they are fairly easy to work with.Each of the three strands has a loop at one end. I used that to hang them from a hook in the sunroom that I normally use for a hanging plant. Then, working with one at a time, I straightened out the main stem and began untangling the smaller stems and leaves. Hanging them made this easier and gave me a visual of where the leaves were turned around backward or where the main stem curved too much, etc. I’m still playing with them (yes, I have a touch of Mr Monk about me), but with enough, you actually could make your dining table look like their picture. It would take more than one package, though. Unless your table is small. Like mine. Hmm…I don’t think they’re going to work for me as a garland replacement in most places since each strand is only three feet long. I might be able to wire them together, but I think they would need at least two strands intertwined for each length (to get the thickness right). But they do work nicely as a substitute in the individual windows of my sunroom, which is where I have them now. Of course, there were three of them in the package, and there are 17 windows in the sunroom. I think I need more packages.

Leaves have nice coloring and printed vein detail, but stems very plastic looking

Front of leaves have nice realistic looking green color with lighter green vein detail printed on fabric. Strands come rolled/folded, so time will be spent using a blow dryer to help straighten these out or doing it by hand. I disliked the back part of the leaves because they are a faded green-grey, making it more obvious that this item is fake foliage. I also disliked the plastic shiny appearance of the stems. Up close it's obvious but more than 4 feet away, they appear to be a nice supplement to real flower decor as long as you don't see too much of the stems or rear part of leaves.

3 Strand of Green Beauty

I had been looking for greenery to mix with blue roses for my sweetheart's table at my wedding, and it was difficult because everything I found looked too fake. These were perfect! Even in the bag they came in, they looked real. Separated, they were a bit too "spacey" for me; however, if you overlay two or all of them, they look so beautiful and have a nice fullness that makes them look more real. Let me preface this by saying that you can totally have them not all together, and they will be nice, but for my wedding, I needed them to look a certain way.They are very green and soft - it says they are made of silk, but that is not the feeling I get from them. They are soft to the touch, reminding me of a rayon or similar material. All in all, they are great for so many events and occasions or in your house.

Surprised by quality

I ordered these to test the quality and see if it would fit my wedding vision. These do work well, but my only issue is that these vines aren't long enough. So I'm sure if I will be keeping these or not. I was surprised by the quality of the vines. The main stems of the vines are hard but flexible plastic and the fabric leaves are thicker than other brands that I've ordered. It has a nice amount of leaves on each side of the main stem and has printed vein details on the leaves. Another brand that I ordered from, the leaves were mostly on one side and solid colored.
