Decent 'pot' monstera, but let down by 'same leaf' syndrome.

My daughter loves these Monster-a plants, and I've gotten her a few different 'fake ones'. This one being a desk top with a pot caught my eye.It comes all squished up, with bent wires and the leaves flat-packed, along with a pre-assembled pot.The pot itself is pretty nice - they've made a styrofoam insert and glued pebbles to the top which makes it look good. You might have to break out one of the pebbles though, to fit the big stem inside. And you'll also have to attach each leaf to its respective stem - just push the leaf hole onto the stem top. A 10 minute job.The leaves are a bit disappointing. They all have *exactly* the same pattern, and it's not a super clear one either. They're certainly good enough to pass from a distance, but not from close up. That's a problem though, 'cos it being a 'pot plant' and not a fake outdoor one you're *going* to be seeing it up close.The product pictures show plants which have a lighter green than the others - a nod towards 'new growth' which is a good thing. And mine came with the 'three lighter coloured' leaves, a nice touch.Overall, I think it's decent. The pot is great, the leaves are 'mostly good' as long as you're not too discerning about the 'real-ness' of the entire plant.

Very small, less full than the listing pictures but still nice

The monstera artificial potted plant is much smaller than I anticipated. I placed my coffee mug next to the pot for reference. The listing size is accurate but the listing pictures are taken in such a way to make the plant seem much larger. The plant comes in three pieces; the pot, the stems and branches, and the leaves. The plastic pot is filled with styrofoam material and then covered with small pebbles that are glued on. The pebbles look very nice, but a few had come loose in the packing box. The stem and branches are green plastic over wire. The wire allows the branches to be bent as desired. The leaves are fabric and quite realistic. There was an attempt to make some veining on the top of the leaves. The undersides are plain and no attempt was made to show the underside as realistic. There are thirteen dark green leaves and three of a lighter green as if the three leaves were newer than the others. That kind of detail is impressive. After putting the leaves on the branches I spent an hour shaping the branches and leaves. The only way I could get anywhere close to the fullness of the listing picture was to make all 16 leaves face forward or to the sides and all branches pretty much in a left to right straight line. I guess if you were to place the plant flat against a wall it might look ok. As I had planned to place the plant in a manner that there would be 360 degree viewing I arranged the branches and leaves in a full circle. It resulted in a much less full plant. I ended up using it in my artificial garden near the back so I could arrange the leaves to look full. Overall this is a nice artificial potted plant as long as you are aware of its size.

This plant was kind of a nightmare to put together. You had to assemble each leaf individually, and then the hole in the vase was way too small for the plant to be stuck in. I needed to enlarge it, which was its own separate problem, as there were rocks basically cemented on covering part of it. No matter what I did, I couldn't get the rocks to loosen so I could pull a couple off, so I wound up drilling through them to widen the hole so the plant would be useable.Once I got through the nightmare of putting this thing together, I still wasn't too impressed, as it's not very stable. And it kind of gets in the way anywhere you set it due to its size. It's very pretty to look at, and if I had a better spot for it I'd probably like it more.

Looks realistic and had fun assembling it.

Found it a very satisfying experience putting this lovely fellow together this morning. The process gives you a chance to really examine the quality of the leaves, stems and planter with polished river rock detail.Assembly: Using pliers I bent the thinner portion at the ends of every stem first (see photo). The stems are very sturdy, yet bendable. The leaves fit snugly onto the end of the stems. The inclusion of lighter colored "new" leaves adds to the realism of the plant.A layer of polished river stone rock around the base of the stem against the white of the planter pot is a nice combination with the plant greenery. The stones are glued together so they will stay in the pot. I had to widen the spot where the stem base inserts by gently prying a few of the stones loose with a thin flat head screwdriver. I hot glued them on again after I inserted the stem. The length of the stem base is generous. Pushing all of it into the pot's styrofoam core results in a very sturdy plant base.When I stepped back this morning to see the final result I was really quite pleased with how realistic this Monstera plant looks and I had fun assembling it.
