Each stem has a built-in wire, so I just bent 20 of them into a soft arch for the ceremony—no tools, no leaves falling off. The leftovers went into a tall floor vase at home. After the honeymoon, a quick swipe with a microfiber cloth brought them back to “fresh-from-the-florist” shape, and they don’t glare in photos.
I got these ZestNova Italian ruscus silk plants to use as filler foliage for making wreaths for my front door and also for arrangements around the house. I really like the look of Italian ruscus in general since it works with almost any floral arrangement and can also stand on its own.* Style & Appearance: The overall look is fine but not exceptional. From a distance, they look nice and do their job as greenery filler. Up close, they’re clearly artificial. These would be fine for something like a banquet table or background décor, but probably not ideal for a bridal bouquet, corsages, boutonnieres, or anything meant to be examined closely.* Color: The green color is pleasant and fairly neutral. It blends well with other faux florals and doesn’t lean too yellow or too blue. I was happy that no green color rubbed off on my hands while working with them. The little plastic stems though are conspicuously lighter green.* Size & Scale: Each stem measures about 23 inches, which is a good length for wreaths, tall vases, or larger arrangements. All 20 stems come bundled together, so you’ll need to separate and fluff them before use.* Weight: The stems are very lightweight. They don’t add bulk or weight to arrangements, which can be a plus depending on how you’re using them.* Materials: The leaves are printed fabric leaves attached to plastic branches. Only the main stem is wired, so there’s limited ability to reposition individual offshoots. Each stem is pretty thin and only has a few leaves, so they don’t look full on their own.* Feel & Smell: There *was* a noticeable chemical odor to these, which I honestly wasn’t expecting since the description says they’re free of chemical smell. The odor did fade some after airing them out, but it’s still worth mentioning.* Craftsmanship: Construction is basic. The stems aren’t flimsy, but they also don’t feel premium. These are clearly meant to be filler greenery rather than statement stems.* Functionality: They work well for adding volume and texture when mixed in with other faux florals. I wouldn’t use these alone unless you’re going for a very sparse, minimalist look. And the paler green plastic really stands out when on their own.* Versatility: These are versatile in terms of placement. They work for wreaths, table arrangements, shelves, or tucked into larger displays. They’re better suited for background or accent use rather than focal arrangements.* Care & Maintenance: No maintenance needed beyond maybe wiping them down if they get dusty. I’d recommend airing them out before using indoors due to the initial smell.* Value for the Cost: At 32.99 for 20 stems, this feels super expensive for what you get. I would have expected these to be closer to a dollar per stem. For the quality and fullness, the cost feels very hard to justify. Hopefully the cost will come down someday to make this a better buy.* Bottom Line: These are acceptable artificial Italian ruscus stems for filler use and look fine from a distance, but they’re thin, lightly leafed, and overpriced for what they are. Useful, but not impressive. And disappointingly smelly.
These ruscus stems are absolutely beautiful — full, vibrant, and surprisingly realistic up close. Each stem has great length and flexibility, making them easy to shape for centerpieces, garlands, or arches. There’s plenty in the set, and the color variation gives a natural, lifelike look. Perfect for weddings, events, or just adding greenery around the house without the hassle of real plants. Definitely worth the price for the amount and quality you get.
