Great Protector

I ordered this to protect the floor under my desk in the office. I was noticing some light scratches on the flooring since getting a chair with wheels. This mat has worked great.I like the clear transparent look so the wood floor underneath the mat will still show through. The wood is being protected but I can still enjoy the look of the wood. The mat is thin enough and sturdy enough that the chair wheels don’t sink down at all. The surface is just as easy to roll the wheels on as the bare wooden floor.The mat also protects the floor from drops and spills. It is so much easier to wipe up the mat than the wood floor, especially if it has grooves or irregularities in the wood. Now the mat catches anything that falls on the floor before it has a chance to get lodged into the wood floor.It can be cut into a specific size for smaller spaces or to be used on furniture as a way to keep liquids or abrasions from damaging the surface. The bottom is not sticky, but it does seem to stay in place very nicely. I have not seen any movement or shifting as I have rolled my chair around on top of it. It has good staying power.Overall I am so glad to have found this mat to keep the wood floor from further damage.

lifesaver for parents in the throwing food stage

I use this mat under my daughters highchair, and wow, I regret not doing this sooner.We have a 1 year old who is in the phase of learning how gravity works, aka throwing half her food over her chair. We have a rug under our table that I like too much to put away, and this mat has been a great solution! Her thrown over food just lands on top, and the dog takes it from there :) no more scrubbing out pasta sauce.This was easy to setup once out of the package. I just left the heavy table/chair legs on the edges for the first day, and now it’s completely flattened. no curling edges, but even if it did, it comes with stickies to fix that. Could work for you

We have a female kitty who perches on the edge of the litter box and on occasion she aims poorly and pee hits the floor. We got tired of having it reach the floor so we added a couple of puppy pads, which were not enough as she can aim outside the perimeter of where they are placed. So, when this mat came along we were interested in trying it out. We probably need one larger than 3' square because she ended up urinating near one edge and it leaked onto the floor. With that said, it's still an improvement over having to clean it all up off the floor. One key benefit is, my wife prefers the clear plastic as it is less obvious that when we used the puppy pads only. So, for your pet it may be the right size, perhaps the manufacturer will consider offering a larger square size at some point.

The perfect solution for me

This ended up being the perfect solution for the area where we keep our dog’s water bowls. I had been using a rubber-backed rug, which works most of the time, but whenever the rug gets soaked and needs to be swapped out, the wood floor underneath is still vulnerable to water stains.
