Given the dainty proportions and material of elegant etched windows in French doors, it is appropriate to use these smaller, more narrow rods and not something that would be out of proportion to the doors. They are a pretty gloss finished black color metal with no jagged edges to snag lace curtains. The shape of them having a rounded end, allows the curtains to be drawn, snuggly to the door and not have a see-through gap.Installation was easy as the hardware was included. I appreciate the shorter screws being provided. The quality of the screws is something I pay attention to because sometimes providers will give you cheap screws that strip easily. Since I was installing these on a metal door it was important that the screws be able to withstand some force when installing.I only ordered one pair of these mistaking me thinking that the advertisement for a 2 pack meant that it would cover two doors. And said they meant that there were two rods that constitute one pair so that covers one French door if you do use the top and bottom rods as intended.I feel like this was a quality product with appropriate thickness of metal and as such is a good value.
