This product is a 12-pack of windproof candle holders designed for use with twelve inch (12") taper candles. The windproof tubes are made from borosilicate glass. This is the same kind of glass sold under familiar brand names like "Pyrex." Borosilicate glass is manufactured with extra silicate that makes it stronger and able to withstand high temperatures. That's why it's safe for boiling water (test tubes in a laboratory) or oven-safe for baking. Borosilicate glass is used to make glass casserole dishes, glass pie pans, and glass bread pans, among other products. It is also used to make clear glass tea and coffee mugs. Needless to say, these borosilicate glass tubes can handle being in close proximity to the flame of a candle and even if they fall over they are hard to break. Even thin borosilicate glass is deceptively sturdy and hard to break. Stylish Hurricanes

Taper Holding HurricanesI was excited to receive these taper-holding hurricane vases, but I was a bit hesitant when I started unpacking them. While the packaging was very secure, it was a challenge to get through. The vases are made of delicate glass and come in a box with thick styrofoam on the top and bottom, which makes them hard to remove.Once unpacked, I was happy to see the actual taper candle holders. They're about three inches tall and have an elegant, ornate design. The glass hurricane covers are tall and delicate—you simply place your candle in the holder and set the hurricane over the top.I have some concerns about using real candles because the vases could be knocked over easily, but they would be perfect with faux candles. Another thing to consider is storage. The original packaging is so difficult to put back together, so you'll need to figure out a new way to store them after use.Overall, I would recommend these, but with the suggestion of using faux candles.

Beautiful glass candle covers

I love these hurricane candle holders. Both the glass cover and the candle holder are weighty and sturdy. The bases fit my standard tapered candles well and it's easy to place the hurricane cover over the whole thing. I got these for around the house but they would be great as a base for a center piece for a wedding or holiday party. The glass looks so pretty when the candle is lit. As a former Party-lite enthusiast I think they are a great quality and price for how many you get.
