We really liked that these were lined in matter black anti reflective tape compared to similar products we saw on Amazon! These worked great to cover the gap between our cellulose blinds we installled and improve the glare we could see on our tv screen!
I took delivery on some 80 inch strips today and installed them on my bedroom windows. We have cellular blackout blinds, inside mount, and the strips worked nicely to cover the gaps on the sides.My windows are 82.25 inches tall, so I was fortunate to not need to trim the strips. On some similar products people complain about the difficulty of trimming without causing unsightly damage, but I can't comment on that.Pros:- My room is now significantly darker with the blinds closed- The white surface facing the interior of the room is attractive / high quality- The packaging was very protective, no damage during shipping- The tape is quite sticky, I'm confident they won't fall offCons:- The tape's glue could use a bit more thickness / goopiness to form a complete seal on a bumpy wall. A tiny bit of light shines through the crack and I'll probably close it off with putty or toothpaste or something. Not deducting a star because it's not a big deal.
Do they block light on the sides? Yes. But... If your windows are standard like most that I've seen, there's a lot of light pollution that comes out from the bottom and top of the blinds too. So... These technically work, but I've had to use them in tandem with other fixes in order to get a darker room at night in my bedroom. So "100% blackout" is kind of debatable all things considered.
This is exactly what we needed for our new blackout shades for boys room. It was super easy to install and cutting was easy for the length we needed. The adhesion worked and secured very easy in set up. Very happy with this purchased and value was worth it.
The tape is so sticky that I didn’t have to use the screws it came with especially when you wipe the sides of the wall with rubbing alcohol before putting them up. I also put black caulking in some areas where my walls were uneven but I definitely give this product 5 stars . No more sunlight
Great product for people who wake up with the sunlight, but want to sleep in. Even with our blackout curtains, the light still shined through the top of the curtain, and this completely fixed that problem. Stuck to the wall with no issue, and took maybe 2 minutes max to install. For this deal, we'll be getting these for our other bedrooms!!
These strips worked perfectly to block the sunlight bleeding in on the edges of our newly installed block-out shades. Trim to length, and the adhesive strips attached perfectly.
