I'll use this to take pictures of our rosaries - curious what others will do
We make rosaries, and we're always trying to find new ways to stage them and take pictures for the website. The set comes with a large piece of richly colored purple satin. It's very true, real, rich purple - and purple is a very difficult color to execute. There's a whip to represents Christ's flogging, but I imagine it could also go into a costume box, some large, heavy nails, a piece of wood, dice (to represent the soldiers throwing lots for Christ's robe), and a flimsy, plastic crown of thorns that have the clever attention to detail of blood painted on many of the thorns.

Nice set for Easter that is more Bible related than most decor
This set comes with the purple cloth, a crown of thorns, two dice, three nails, a whip, and a piece of wood as well as a postcard sized copy of the Lord’s Prayer with a space to write specific requests on the back. It would have been nice if it came with a resource to explain the different items for anyone who might not be as familiar with the biblical account. The materials are nice; the nails and dice are good quality, the purple cloth is very thin, and the crown of thorns isn’t super realistic and I think could be better. The whip is not expensive material but looks as one would expect for a display. I don’t have the prayer card out (although I did keep it and put it under the purple cloth). Here is how I interpret each item, in case it helps anyone:- Purple cloth: symbolizes that Jesus is king and also how the soldiers mocked him before his crucifixion by putting a purple (or red) robe on him.- Dice: because th soldiers cast lots for his clothing (specifically for his ephod which was woven without seams—they divided his other garments between them). This was also foretold in Psalm 22, which Jesus quotes from the cross.- Whip: represents the whip used for the 40 lashes Jesus received before his crucifixion- Nails: of course for the nails in his hands (wrists) and feet. One nail is much longer than the other two, and they seem to be an accurate size- Wood: this one puzzled me a bit because of the form, but I’m pretty sure it’s meant to represent the wood of the cross itself.- Crown of thorns: also in the mocking of Jesus, the soldiers wove this crown of thorns and put it on his head to show him as a mock king (apparently oblivious to the accuracy in so calling Christ). This was easy to set up and makes a nice table display. I don’t put a lot of Easter decor out during Lent, but the somber tone of what these items represent made me think it was appropriate to lay them out anyway. I’ve had only one person over since I put it up, and she commented unprompted about how much she liked it, too. I am happy with this purchase even though there were a few things I might do differently.

Nice set of Good Friday props
Personally, I think this set is priced a bit high, but it is still a nice collection for Good Friday props. I know kids love to put their hands on things and the nice thing about this set is that it isn’t delicate. You can hand it to children and let them hold in their hands the types of things that were used to hurt Jesus. The crown of thornes is lightweight plastic. I attached a close-up. It is huge. Closer to 9 inches. It is way too big for my head, but if you are displaying it, it gets the idea across. The purple cloth is a very pretty satiny material. It is buttery and smooth. My photo makes it look reddish, but it is definitely deep purple. The nails are just oversized construction nails. I mean, maybe the Romans could make nails like that...The whip is pretty cool. It is made of some sort of black faux leather. Gives a nice smacking sound when you hit things. The prayer cards were a nice addition, although they repeated a line in the Lord’s prayer. (See photo)I’m not sure what the wooden disc is for. I think it should represent the wooden cross. Overall, I think this is a nice set to use when telling the story of the crucifixion.

Making Easter feel more real
Neat set to celebrate the Easter season. It's a way more realistic way to get kids to understand the parts of the crucifixion. When they can hold the long nails or the long thorns, it's more real to them and goes deep in the heart. The rich color of the cloth is lovely. The dice sets look older and could be fun for other uses. The leather whip is also well made.Great set.

Some pieces nice, some come off cheesy- or ill intended.
Well, as recommended, I did gift this to my clergy. I am not so sure it was received as creators may have intended it.My clergy member mostly found it funny, not super serious. The whip in the set comes off a little more comical than serious, the thorn crown not too serious because of the blood detail (pastor actually found that to be a bit crude), and the rest to be of a decent enough addition to any sort of educational use.I found the majority of the gift to be rather cheap looking. The thorn crown is plastic and, in my opinion, the paint on them is not a nice detail, but a bit cheesy. I would have loved something that wasn't plastic, but instead a real thorn/branch.The whip comes off super lightweight and gimmicky. I would have also appreciated something more of the longer whip style vs a flogger which seems like it would be better used in a bedroom than out in a church or in a religious setting. If I am visualizing the crucifixion of Jesus, it seems it would make more sense to be something that was longer and made to reach up to the cross and the person on it vs something short and etc. It just didn't seem realistic and came off as laughable. My clergy member and I actually did laugh about it. Which I don't think is the feeling the manufacturer was going for.The rest of the items seem less cheesy. The dice are a nice quality and do not come off as much like a modern set, the wood piece makes sense, the nails hefty and give the true weight to the sacrifice Jesus would have made on the cross when you think of how they were used, and the cloth and prayer card are all a nice quality.I would just really rethink the whip and blood on the crown. Then this whole set would have been a 5 star winner.
